The Last Product, Part 1: The Seed

In 2019, while tracing our Merino wool knits from farm to finished garment, our journey took us to Tollegno 1900 — the historic Italian wool mill that still spins our Merino yarn today. Tucked away in Biella, Northern Italy, their century-old factory buildings quietly hold a rich legacy.

Among the thick brick walls, we found ourselves drawn to their 100-year-old archive — and in particular, to a section dedicated to woven fabrics. Timeless patterns, deeply familiar textures, and garments once worn by the Italian man of the early 20th century filled the shelves. There was something remarkably relevant in their enduring presence. While we had little practical use of them at the time, the seed for a product, somewhere down the line, was planted: a wool trouser.

Now, ten years since Asket’s inception — and six years after first stepping into Tollegno’s archive — that idea is becoming a reality. Inspired by a time when garments were made with intent and purpose, we’re soon introducing The Wool Trouser.

Rooted in the everyday wardrobe of the turn-of-the-century man, and reinterpreted for today, it will be the 50th and last style to complete our permanent range. A quiet statement — grounded in history, made with integrity, and designed to live well into the future.
